How do I know you can Thrive from STUCKness? How do I know you can Thrive after a marital or any big break-up?

Because I’ve been there.

It took a while. And then…

I knew I was meant to help others thrive when they couldn’t quite figure out how.

Just the way I did.

Now, I’m a certified professional coach.

I love it.

What is “Survival” anyway?

  Survival can mean many things…

It can mean barely breathing,

or, by definition, you can be “alive but barely”, or simply “not dead”.

Suffering from an assault…Physical, Sexual or Emotional, recently or in the past,

that won’t go away, or has been reawakened.

Feeling like a stranger to yourself, always watching and waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Feeling like a victim.

Managing in a “just okay” relationship…

or an abusive one and you don’t know how to handle it.

Or maintaining in a job in which you’re not fulfilled,

but if you let go of it, you fear you’ll lose your “anchor”.

I’ve walked in those shoes.

I know what it feels like.

How it feels to be a victim.  How it feels to be suddenly single.

Break Through the remains of unspeakable trauma, divorce, stuckness…

…To the Thriving experience of enjoying Life and feeling Fulfilled.

Imagine yourself there.
    It can happen.

Jan is confidential and non-judgemental.

“Most of us have two lives: the life we live, and the unlived life within us. Between the two stands Resistance”

– Steven Pressfield.

Recovery from Rape, Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault

You had no idea anyone lived after this.
Or maybe you did. But it wouldn’t happen
to you.
Raped?
Abused?
Incested?
Hit? Punched? Belittled?
It’s all Violence.
Afraid to leave? Afraid to talk?
You are called a “survivor”, but it sure
doesn’t feel like you’re surviving.
You’re not dead, but it doesn’t feel like
you’re living.
It’s certainly not the way life used to be.
Who am I now?
Get yourself back…and better than before.

Adjustment to Divorce, End of Significant Relationship, Recently or in the past, Feel Good about yourself

You wanted to get out of this relationship
SO badly.
You knew you didn’t belong together and
had to separate.
Who knew it would be so hard? You were
even the person who wanted it.
I thought I’d feel better, by now. OR…
You didn’t want to get out of the
relationship. What was so bad about
fighting every day? You didn’t think it was
this serious.
What about the kids? How can I explain
it…and care for them when I can’t care for
myself? I don’t want them to hate their
(other parent). Maybe I do, really.
It feels like a death occurred.

The stakes are high if you don’t do something soon.

Your friends know something’s up but fear talking about it…except to each other.

Your boss sees, too, and you know it won’t be long before it’s mentioned.

Your kids notice a change in you. They’re bewildered.

Your numbness is moving into depression, slowly but surely.

Your emotions are strained and you’re snapping at people.

You may develop PTSD, or you may have it already.

About Jan, Survival to Thrival Coach

“How, What, Why do we See, Hear, Feel”. It was my first film. I was just 16. It won a national award,
I’ve always been into understanding and helping people understand themselves.

One Christmas Eve, I got engaged.
Two days later, I was raped.
Two days after that, I was in therapy.
I was so helped by my therapist, I went to Graduate School to help others.

The rapist remained at large as I emerged from “jail”. After two trials, he was sentenced to 400 years in jail.
I earned my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and started my practice.
I helped victims of rape, abuse, spousal abuse, worked with divorcees, and those who wished they were.
My divorce groups turned into personal growth groups.
Then I entered a divorce group for myself.
Clients called or came back, even years later, to thank me and give me positive feedback about their lives.
I am passionate and practical.
I do not ignore the negative, yet I come from the positive, building on strengths.
Strengths you already have, strengths you may not realize you have, and strengths I will help you build.
I am blessed with the empathy I naturally have.
I am humbled by the kudos I’ve been given.
Most of all, I am privileged to have helped many people for so many years.

Will I have the privilege of working with you next?

Let’s walk together and get you where you want to go.
Out of the sludge
and
Into the life you wish you already had. Now.
